| What our group does: | |
| Kendray Boxing Club is run by local volunteers and was established to provide distraction activities for local young people. The aim of the club is to encourage young people to meet on a regular basis and learn a disciplined sport and to encourage health and fitness in young people. | |
| Group Activities: | |
| Kendray Boxing Club is run every Monday evening between 6-7.30pm at the Cedar Crescent Community Centre (also known as the 'Bop'). At these Monday evening sessions, young people are educated on the following aspects: - Healthy eating; Avoiding alcohol and substances misuse; Warm up sessions; Circuit training; Boxing techniques; Defense techniques; Rules and regulations of the Amateur Boxing Association; Team working; and more.. It is hoped in the near future that the club will be in possesion of a boxing ring. This will allow the club to affiliate to the Amateur Boxing Associaiton of England and this will, in time, allow the club to become involved in competitions. | |
