Kendray re-united!

Who needs Friends Re-united when there's kendray.net!

An ex-Kendray resident contacted a member of staff in the Neighbourhood Management Team recently via the kendray.net website and asked if we could put her in touch with any old friends.

Pauline Whitaker, now Paula Waite, used to live on Gerald Close but left in 1968. Paula visited Kendray about 5 years ago and was saddened to see the house she grew up in on Gerald Close had been demolished. Paula went to Ardsley Oaks School and is eager for anyone who remembers her or her sister Gill to contact her.

If you remember Paula or her family and would like to contact her, you can do so by e-mailing waitepaula@hotmail.com.

From Kendray to Canada!

The Canadians apparently much admire what?s been achieved in Neighbourhood Renewal here in the U.K. and as a result Ann Hart and Cynthia Cunningham, resident co-chairs of The Kendray Initiative Board were invited by them to give a presentation of Kendray?s successful approach to regeneration at a conference held there over Easter week. The Canadians were very interested in our partnership working and the involvement of residents in the decision making process and tell us they will watch with interest at what follows at the end of Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder funding to make this sustainable.

The event took place on Saturday 6th June 2009 in the central area.  There was plenty to do for all those who came, despite the inclement weather.  There was an entertainment van playing music, food marquee, lots of bouncy castles and lots of stalls.
